Lacquer color moving across a reflective water surface

Where color
meets silk.

The process behind JeLac is not production — it is formation through nature.

01 / Formation

Formed in water.

Lacquer and mineral-based pigments meet on the water’s surface. Color spreads and moves into a pattern that cannot be planned or repeated.

02 / Revelation

Revealed by light.

After the piece leaves the water, color continues to develop through oxidation and natural sunlight. Over 10–15 days, light and time reveal greater depth and brightness.

03 / Completion

Completed through time.

As the color settles and the surface takes form, a finished piece emerges. Its pattern carries the memory of a single meeting between material and movement.
